Waterfall Wonderland

Chasing Waterfalls

Some of my favorite falls and what you should know about them

oneonta falls

Oneonta falls is situated up the Oneonta gorge and is a very unique hike. Scramble over a log jam and then hike up the creek (up to 3 ft. deep at times) surrounded by vast rock walls on both sides to get to the bowl that showcases this awesome waterfall. Great for a short summer hike.

tamanawas falls

Found in the Mt. Hood national forest, hike through the forest, rock formations, and along a river to reach this spot. Tamanawas is a great location and hikers can get up close and personal through the creek bed or climb along the side to reach an area to sit behind the falls.

Proxy Falls

Located in the Willamette National forest among the McKenzie River, Proxy falls is one of the most popular Oregon falls. Hike through a lava rock trail to reach the entrance to Proxy. Once there hikers can climb all around the falls to enjoy from different viewpoints.

Tokatee Falls

Found in Central Oregon, Tokatee boasts a 113 feet falls surrounded by columnar basalt formations that plunges into a large pool. This is an easy hike that will lead to a viewing platform above the falls. Hikers can climb down the side with caution to reach the edge of the pool.
